For over 50 years, Alpern Rosenthal has been a leader in providing quality service to the Firm’s assurance, tax and business advisory clients. We believe that quality service goes far beyond the basic requirements. Quality is infused in every action we take, judgment we make and conversation we have with our clients. Before we act, think or converse, we determine how we can achieve the highest quality outcome for our clients and our profession.
Quality begins with the professionals that we hire and develop. We provide all professionals at all levels with the technical training necessary to not only stay abreast of current developments, but to also understand how to apply that knowledge to meet our client’s needs and goals. We also invest heavily in the best technical resources available to our profession as well as the cutting edge technology that our professionals can leverage to provide our services effectively and efficiently.
We continuously monitor our ability to provide high quality service through multiple levels of review before we release any deliverable to our clients. Through this monitoring process, we share knowledge across the firm to constantly improve our performance. In our Audit & Assurance department, all engagements undergo a report review before any financial statement, governance communication or internal control communication is released to our clients. In addition, certain engagements are selected for a concurring partner review on an annual basis to provide another level of fresh, objective oversight. We further perform annual internal inspections of certain client engagements in order to objectively evaluate our performance and identify areas in our process that we can further enhance.
Periodically, our firm undergoes a peer review through participation in the American Institute of CPA’s Peer Review Program. We are reviewed every three years for quality and compliance with professional standards. Alpern Rosenthal has received a pass rating each time the Firm has been peer reviewed since the program began. This reflects our adherence to professional standards.
Because our firm audits public company issuers, we are registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and are subject to the PCAOB’s periodic inspection. We have been inspected by the PCAOB once, in 2011, and received a clean opinion regarding our audit performance and system of quality control.
In order to ensure that we always have access to the highest quality resources, Alpern Rosenthal is also a member of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and AICPA Government Audit Quality Center. We demonstrate our commitment to quality by adhering to all membership requirements of both centers, including training and quality control programs specific to employee benefit plan and governmental audits; performing annual internal inspection procedures that include a review of the firm's audit practice; and designating an audit partner to have firm wide responsibility for the quality of these audits.
