Alpern Rosenthal Speaks to National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts

(PITTSBURGH, PA) - Alpern Rosenthal’s Brandon Otis, manager in the Business Valuation and Litigation Support Group, spoke recently to the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts on a Current Updates in Valuation. This session was part 4 of a four part series. The focus was on the recent developments and theory in secondary adjustments, including the developments and application of control premiums and discounts for lack of control as well as lack of marketability. The latter included a discussion of option pricing models and other recent commentary related to discounts for lack of marketability. The program ended with a discussion of recent developments in fair value accounting-based engagements and considerations in reviewing other valuator's reports.

“I am very excited to be offered these opportunities to teach for the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts on discounts and premiums,” said Otis. “These adjustments have such a significant impact on value and yet  so many valuators gloss over them.”
