Alpern Rosenthal Sponsors Venture In: Google Ventures

(Pittsburgh, PA) – Google Ventures is next in the series of Venture In events, co-sponsored by Alpern Rosenthal. Venture In is a new series of programs hosted by The Pittsburgh Technology Council aimed at strengthening relationships between Pittsburgh's entrepreneurial community and the nation's leading venture capital organizations.

A leading venture investor and IT leader, Rich Miner will speak on November 17, 2011, from 7:15 AM to 9:15 AM at the Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel. Miner is an Android Co-Founder and current Partner at Google Venture, the venture capital arm of Google Inc. It embraces the challenge of helping young companies grow from the proverbial garage to global relevance, seeks to discover and help develop great companies, and believes in the power of entrepreneurs to do amazing things. Google Ventures aims to invest $200 million a year and its investments range from seed to late stage, across a broad range of industries, including consumer Internet, digital media, software, hardware, and biotechnology.

Venture In was created to meet the regional tech sector’s growing need for investment capital by bringing the world’s top venture capital and investment firms to Pittsburgh. These firms will detail what they look for in investments while also getting a closer look at deal opportunities in Pittsburgh.
