Today, we are one of the largest top 100 accounting firms in the United States as reported by Accounting Today. Our Firm has approximately 250 professional and support staff personnel, including 34 Shareholders who offer a full-range of client services.

INSIDE Public Accounting also named Alpern Rosenthal among the nation’s Top 100 accounting firms. This designation is based on one of the longest-running reports of accounting firm operations and management. To achieve this honor, firms must excel in proven growth, internal processes and market knowledge.


 

Best Places to Work

Our ability to maintain lower than industry average personnel turnover is a result of many programs we have put in place to create an excellent work environment at Alpern Rosenthal. Our corporate headquarters has been named as one of Pittsburgh's Best Places to Work by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and we were the highest ranked accounting firm in the Medium Category. Alpern Rosenthal placed third in the medium-sized category (50-500 employees) and was the highest ranked accounting firm on the list.

In addition, we were named one of Pittsburgh's Best Places to Work by the Pittsburgh Business Times. Alpern Rosenthal was the highest ranked public accounting firm on the list and the only one to win this award in two consecutive years. These awards recognize our efforts to create a work culture that offers work life balance, innovative human resources programs and job flexibility.


 

Balance Award for Workplace Sensitivity — American Society of Women Accountants 

Alpern Rosenthal has been honored nationally for its commitment to work/life balance and sensitivity to the concerns of women in the accounting and financial industry. The Firm was presented with the American Society of Women Accountants' (ASWA) Balance Award showcasing its ability to make the work experience rewarding and empowering. Each year, the ASWA Educational Foundation recognizes "best in market" national, regional and local companies whose commitment to work/life balance reflects a clear prioritization of both the value and the values that winning companies place on their chief asset — their people.


 

Honoring our Practice Development Program

Alpern Rosenthal has been locally and nationally recognized for a program which encourages practice development among all employees and allows each individual to create a practice development program that fits their interests and strengths. Through practice development, professionals can build a referral network, service current clients better as well as attract new clients.

The program has been honored at the annual People Do Matter Awards which recognize Southwestern Pennsylvania employers whose human resource practices best demonstrate the importance of providing workers a positive return on their contributions of time, attention, ideas, knowledge, passion, energy and social networks to ensure productivity, efficiency and business results.
