AUDIT PARTNER

Position Summary:
Alpern Rosenthal has experienced significant growth over the past several years prompting the need for an additional contributing partner. We are seeking an individual with external audit experience from a larger regional or national/international public accounting firm to lead a team of audit specialists and provide expertise across its’ client base. This position will be given an established portfolio of clients but is also expected to meet the firm’s client development expectations.

Supports the Firm’s mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, teamwork, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, commitment, and accountability.

Professional Requirements:

  • Ten or more years of public accounting experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Construction, manufacturing, high tech, medical, not-for-profit, professional services, real estate, retail and wholesale distribution industry experience a plus.

Communication Skills:

  • Develop long-term professional relationships with clients through exceptional client service including: communicate engagement’s progress, problems, resolutions, financial information, and other business concerns to the client.

Coaching and other contributions to skill building:

TAX PARTNER

Position Summary:
Alpern Rosenthal has experienced significant growth over the past several years prompting the need for an additional contributing partner. We are seeking an individual with corporate tax experience from a larger regional or national/international tax firm to lead a team of tax specialists and provide tax expertise across its’ client base. This position will be given an established portfolio of clients but is also expected to meet the firm’s client development expectations.
The Partner will generally be the lead tax contact on client assignments and will handle many of the tax consultations with client.

  • Assumes responsibility for supervising engagements and special assignments.
  • Expected to participate in administrative planning, particularly in continuing education and personnel development.
  • Supports the Firm’s mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, teamwork, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, commitment, and accountability. 

Professional Requirements:

  • Ten or more years of public accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Working Knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and Regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university

  • Oversee all facets of client relationship
  • Be responsible for the performance of all facets of tax engagement.
  • Assume full technical responsibility.
  • Oversee various phases of engagements: plans engagements, budgets time and expenses and monitor actual performance against budget.
  • Review with manager significant findings that raise questions involving accounting principles or statement presentation.
  • Oversee the assignment of duties to, and training of, all personnel assigned to the engagement.
  • Recognize in advance the possible problem areas of an engagement.
  • Recognize the importance and look for opportunities to expand services to existing clients and obtain new clients.
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Attend required CPE Seminars.
  • Perform other assigned duties, as requested.

MANAGERS AND SENIORS
Auditing and Tax

Alpern Rosenthal, one of the areas largest regional public accounting firms, is experiencing significant growth in new business and is seeking experienced accountants for the professional staff. We provide competitive salaries, benefits, working conditions and require minimal travel.

Audit Manager
Alpern is looking for a career-oriented, self starting individual to work as a Manager in the Accounting and Audit Department of our Firm. The Audi Manager will have 4 to 6 years of public accounting experience and a CPA certification is required. Challenging responsibilities for the Audit Manager include directing and reviewing the work of senior assigned, preparing work programs and time budgets and adherence to those budgets, rendering sophisticated advice to clients and developing relationships with clients on a management level. The individual will be highly motivated, possess strong communication skills and have a commitment to quality and growth within the firm.

Tax Managers
Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years
current public accounting experience.
The candidate must be a CPA (JD or MST is a plus).


Audit Seniors and Semi-Seniors
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years current
public accounting experience in performing external audits, reviews.


Tax Seniors
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years current
public accounting experience in preparation of tax returns and compliance.


ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF QUALITY CONTROL FOR THE ACCOUNTING AND AUDIT DEPARTMENT

Position Requirements:

  • Evaluating and participating in continuing professional education for the audit and accounting section of the practice would be a part of the position.
  • Independent report review of certain financial statements that are issued by our Firm.
  • Act as a consultant to the other accounting and audit shareholders as well as the managers
  • Coordinate the Firm’s annual peer review and Firm inspections.
  • Consultant on audits to help evaluate risk and participate in engagement critical decisions when necessary.
  • Speak on technical, accounting and auditing issues to audiences such as bankers, sureties and attorneys.
  • Make suggestions, continue to implement and monitor the Firm’s system of accounting and auditing quality control.
  • Reports to the Director of Quality Control

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years experience in audit and accounting.
  • Strong technical audit and accounting background.
  • Previous experience as a Director of Quality Control is a plus.
  • Or previous experience at a large regional firm such as Alpern Rosenthal or a private company practice of a national firm.
  • Ability to participate in marketing functions such as networking receptions with referral sources as well as perform speaking engagements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and work as a service provider to accounting and auditing partners.
