In 1961, entrepreneurs Ed Alpern and Irving Rosenthal formed the team that developed into one of the Top 100 accounting firms in the United States, according to Accounting Today and Inside Public Accounting. That first year Alpern Rosenthal was a staff of one accountant and one secretary. In year two, when revenues doubled, it was clear that the Firm’s inventive solutions and dedicated personnel were meeting a vital need in the marketplace.

Fast forward to the 1990s. Alpern Rosenthal became a solutions leader in audit & assurance, tax, business advisory and consulting services. Dedicated teams were built around each industry we served: construction, manufacturing, medical, not-for-profit, professional services, real estate, retail and wholesale distribution.  

Through strategic acquisitions and mergers, the firm excelled in growing its talent and practice areas to include business valuation & litigation support, international tax, comprehensive risk, and financial staffing solutions... to name a few.

Today, Alpern Rosenthal has four offices: Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; West Palm Beach, FL; and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. With more than 30 shareholders and a staff of more than 200, the firm has the expertise and global reach to match the Big Four, yet continues to exceed expectations and meet client needs with the same innovative and personalized service envisioned by its founders.
